How We Got Here

Winter Garden Christian Academy was born out of a heartfelt response to a pressing need in our community and a passionate commitment to upholding Judeo-Christian values in an increasingly secular culture. In the fall of 2021, Pastor Melvin Adams felt a clear calling to establish an affordable, Biblical worldview education option for families in the Winter Garden area.
Through our church ministry, we’ve seen firsthand the challenge of nurturing a lasting spiritual impact in our children and youth through only a few hours of weekly church programs. With children spending an average of 2-3 hours in church compared to over 40 hours in secular school environments, it’s difficult to counter the influence of a secular worldview. We believe that ministry thrives through relationships, and building those relationships requires time. This realization inspired our vision for a school that would provide a transformative, faith-centered education to shape young hearts and minds.

In March 2022, Jeff Keaton, President and Founder of Renewanation, spoke to a group of men from Faith Family Community Church about the vital importance of raising a generation grounded in a Biblical worldview. His words ignited a spark, uniting our community in purpose. Over the following months, dedicated individuals stepped forward, forming a steering committee to bring this vision to life.

We envisioned Winter Garden Christian Academy as a place where children could be immersed in a Biblical worldview for over 40 hours a week, surrounded by an environment that nurtures their faith and shields them from the challenges of secular influences. With great anticipation, we launched the academy in the fall of 2024 as a K5–4th grade school.

At the launch of WGCA, we welcomed 39 students and a devoted staff, growing to 44 students by the end of the 2024–2025 school year. By God’s grace, we celebrated a successful inaugural year. Now we look forward to a projected 100% enrollment increase for the fall of 2025 along with an expansion to include 5th and 6th grades. To God be the glory!
As we press on, we are thrilled to witness God’s hand at work through our school, empowering young people to live boldly for their faith! Our mission is to grow and learn under God’s guidance, fostering a Christ-centered community that equips the next generation of Christian leaders. At Winter Garden Christian Academy, we are dedicated to keeping Biblical worldview education at the heart of all we do, raising up young men and women who will shine their faith brightly in our world.
